On Joey Logano and my pick for Michigan

As I said a few posts ago (sorry for the hiatus by the way, I was out of town on vacation) Joey Logano is the real deal and a future Cup champion.Logano won his first Nationwide race Saturday at the age of 18 years and some change. He's about nine months younger than Casey Atwood, who used to hold the record for youngest winner in series history. (On a side note, is it sad that I remember where I was when Atwood won that race?).
Anyway, I'm telling you, if Mark Martin calls Logano "magic," I think it's best we all pay attention. It's going to be fun to watch.
On to the big boys in the Sprint Cup. I am taking Jimmie Johnson for Sunday's race at Michigan International Speedway.
Yeah, it's difficult not to take Carl Edwards or Kyle Busch, and I'm probably going to continue to hurt my 3-11 prediction record, but I think the No. 48 Lowe's Chevy is primed for a win. It was fastest in the first practice, second fastest in the second practice and fastest again in the final practice. Yeah, that means that hot rod is on a rail!
We'll find out, but I just have a hunch the two-time defending Cup champion gets his second win of the season in Brooklyn, Mich.
Until next time, keep hittin' your marks!

oops! Johnson didn't make it again but a Hendrick car did come through and I must say I am happy for the 88 teams. I am happy for the 9 car as well. Two of my favorite drivers. It is hard enough to pick a weekly winner and it doesn't help matters when you don't get to watch qualifing to help make a prediction. I am excited to see a new face coming onto the scene..I hope that he doesn't follow the same path as Atwood.

yeah jr!
with the season of near misses that the 88 had experienced going into sunday, i fully expected the amp car to run out of fuel. pace car rules and fuel strategy aside, i'm glad jr won.
can i get a ruling on passing the pace car under caution? the 88 team was definitely warned to not do that again, so it is obviously a no-no, but is a warning first and a penalty second the rule?
either way, they rolled the dice. my boy todd would be proud.
