Talladega prediction

After predicting Jimmie Johnson would win last weekend at Kansas, I'm now one win away from tying the N-G record for most in a season. My current record stands at 7-22.

But I must say I'm not too confident heading into Talladega. It sure is a fun race to watch, but figuring out a winner is virtually impossible.

It’s difficult to predict races at Talladega because a guy could be running in 17th place with two laps to go and win.

But there are a number of guys who have put together a decent weekend heading into today’s AMP Energy 500. I think I’ll take Jeff Burton to claim the checkered flag and put some pressure on the three guys ahead of him in the points standings.

Burton doesn’t have a win at Talladega, but we all know Richard Childress Racing cars can be wicked fast at the superspeedways. Burton has been Mr. Consistency this year, and I think he’ll be rewarded today with a victory.
