Entering the Blogosphere

Welcome to Area Extras.

I'm Meg. I cover regional news for The News-Gazette. I'm looking forward to updating you with plenty of tidbits about what's going on in our circulation area.

I'm also hoping to use this space to let you know about interesting Web sites, issues and events happening outside East Central Illinois.

But before I get there, I'll tell you a little about myself.

I've been a News-Gazette staff writer since May 2007, when I graduated from Bradley University in Peoria.

I obviously like to write, but I also enjoy shoe shopping, bike rides (during warm weather) and finishing a good book.
