Will he step down now?

Nearly all of the governor's allies have turned on him now. Many in his staff have left or want to leave.
He has scheduled a 2 p.m. news conference today.

Is there any reason for him to fight on? Is there anything to gain, any endgame?
Will he finally resign?
If so, how does he word it?
