Tis the season for high school and college graduations, and we'll be starting our coverage in The News-Gazette on Friday, May 9.In years past, we printed lists of names of area high school graduates, but last year for the first time we used photos for graduates. We asked the schools to send us the photos, and most cooperated. It was a lot of work for our staff, but seemed to go over well with readers, so we'll do it again this year.
Our listings of the Class of 2008 start with Rantoul High School on May 9. We'll run the graduation photos for area high schools each Friday in our Living section into the summer.
We'll be covering commencement ceremonies for a number of area high schools in late May and early June.
We'll also have stories and photos from University of Illinois commencement ceremonies May 11, and we'll be covering commencement at Parkland College and Danville Area Community College.

This doesn't have anything to do with this blog entry, but I've got a question about how you guys do stuff. I'm looking at today's Sunday paper. How come some long stories (like the one about mentally ill inmates) have little subheads in them while other long stories, sometimes even longer ones like the Pacey quads, don't? Why do you use those subheads so haphazardly or at all?
