Less than a week away from Illinois-Missouri!!

Tonight is Sim Night.  I got a copy of NCAA 10 for the Xbox 360, and tomorrow I will post the results of the simulation.  Call me a nerd, but I’m looking forward to the simulation.  It just means that it’s time for football again, and at this point, every team feels good about the upcoming year (except North Texas).   I’m getting more and more excited with each passing day.  Usually, I’m not all that ready for football since I’m still following baseball, but this year, I don’t mind it starting next week.

I like the fact that you have some good games next week, and it doesn’t take long to get things started.  On Thursday, how about #16 Oregon @ #14 Boise State?  This is an interesting game for a number of reasons.  One, can Boise State go undefeated if they get past this game?  Two, can Oregon establish themselves as a threat to USC and their true freshman quarterback?  And three, you have one of the most unique turfs in football going against one of the most unique jerseys in football.  What a great way to start the year!

How about #5 Alabama @ #7 Virginia Tech on Saturday?  Already a top 10 match up……awesome!  While Alabama’s rival, Florida, is busy playing the mighty Buccaneers of Charleston Southern, Alabama is putting their national title hopes on the line right off the bat, and you got to love that.  I can’t say I know much about Virginia Tech, except the fact their #7 in the country.  Last year, they scored 23 rushing touchdowns and only 6 passing TD’s.  I wonder what their game plan will be? (sarcasm)

There are some other great match ups right off the bat too.  You got #20 BYU @ #3 Oklahoma, and ##13 Georgia @ #9 Oklahoma State. As you can see, some great games in week one.  And of course, there’s Illinois and Missouri.

I want to have some fun this year with this little simulation.  I was thinking about keeping standings with all of our predictions.  No prizes or anything (for now, read on), just something fun I want to do.    I was thinking about keeping track of whether or not you picked the correct winner, as well as the differential in the point spread (this would act as a tie breaker).  If you want in, just post a comment below with your predictions each week in my blog.  I will blog on Monday’s and Tuesday’s so you that it gives you a whole week to post a score prediction.  Also, let us know why you think the score will be what you predicted.  As always, I enjoy hearing from everybody.  If enough of you get involved, maybe I can find a way to have a small weekly prize and an overall season prize.  Don’t bank on it, but it is something I’ll throw out there if a fair amount of people participate.

Alright, that’s it for now.  Come back tomorrow to check out the results of my simulation and my person prediction.  Have a good day!

I agree, Im still very distracted with baseball right now, but will be nice to have tons of choices on TV for sports now that Football is played everyday of the week it seems.

I hope Oregon wheres the yellow jerseys so I can actually see them on that ugly blue turf.

Im in for your game, let me know the games we are predicting so I can win this thing :)
