Hey everyone,

My Monday has turned into a busy one so I don’t have much time to discuss my thoughts on Saturday’s game.  You probably have a general idea as to what they are though.  Here’s a quick summary of my thoughts on the game.

Defense – Actually kept us in the game as long as they could.  Decent job.

Special Teams – Just kneel the ball in the end zone if you don’t know what you’re going to do with it.

Offense – WTF!?!!?

I will do my “Monday Night Sim” of Illinois-Penn State and have results of that tomorrow.  Also, the standings will be updated for everybody.

In the meantime, see what coach Ron Zook had to say on the First Word with Stevie Jay on News Talk 1400 WDWS.

For those of you trying to figure out how you’re going to predict this week’s game, Illinois is an early 6-point underdog.  Really??  If we lost be six, I’d be happy.

I-L-L...

Luckily for some dumb reason I couldnt get the game in my area it seemed to be blacked out. So all know is that I caught from the radio...

Defense- sounded like they did a slightly better job, But welcome back to my D-Line is overrated rant from last game. They get pushed and moved around like no other team I know.

Special Teams- the punting sounded ok... Whys the fastest guy on the team not returning kick offs? I mean he is a RB and used to taking hits and stuff.

Offense- Didnt sound overly bad as people think. We moved the ball well to begin the game. But for the best WRs in the country they sure cant run a good route or catch a ball it sounds like.

Zook- Get the players in check please! This mess at the 50 before the game, and the pointless penalties, and celebrating for making a tackle are ridicouls. Well ill let Hardeman celebrate a tackle due to his usually misses so when he does I guess its time to celebrate. But why is he always haveing to make the tackles? shouldnt the Dline be occuppying the blockers so the LBs can clean it up?

Who took more heat to start there carrer, A) Ron Zook for not being able to win? or B) Bruce Weber for not being able to recruit top talent?

Instead of the first word with Ron Zook, can we get the last word from Ron Zook? In the fifth year of a coaching regime, two years removed from a 9-4 season, these types of games are unacceptable.

when you look at good teams in college football there is a common factor that bonds them togather.... That bond is composure... every good team has the composure to win and the composure to fight through the tough times. This brings up the question where does composure come from? Well in the case of teams like florida its from senior leadership, teams like LSU and Oklahoma, and even texas, it mirrors their coach and his attitude, on and off the field.

Illinois saturday failed miserably on every productive drive they had... how you ask... they shot themselves in the foot everytime... whether it was a penalty or turnover. they just lacked the composure. but, who do we blame? the senior quarterback that has consistently gotten worse from his freshman year? The egotistical "talent" that was suppose to take us to the promised land? Or do you blame a coach that has no control of his team?

Its time zook gets the blame, the "talent" keeps coming in but the record is getting worse... This team has no leadership, the players probly look at juice as a big headed (literally) overated quarterback, and Rejus as a talented player that is just going to leave after this season so why bother listening to him.... Do you think Florida has this problem? They have a system, with leadership, and it works like a fine oiled machine. If we get Blown out again saturday zook might as well look for a new job, he has lost control of the team, Illini Nation has lost confidence in him, but most importantly, How does Ron feel about his performance?
