Travel in Big Ten country is a big part of my life. With these posts, I hope to share some of my experiences with you, and give readers some insight as to whats going on in other parts of the confrence.
The road most recently took me to Indianapolis for the Brickyard 400. Although it's not a Big Ten sporting event, I was pleased to see alot of confrence support around the Motor Speedway.
As I walked to the track I saw a ton of #3 stickers on vehicles, but also a good number of ILLINI decals, including a few chief logos. Inside the track I sat next to a group of people from Decatur, who had plenty of questions about Ron Zooks team. I even saw a Chief t-shirt in my section and a Rose Bowl T.
I expected to see alot of Indiana University stuff, but there was more Purdue support amongst race fans. Must have been Ryan Newman fans. Suprisingly, there were alot of Ohio State rooters as well.
Will be vacationing next week, and hope to have more observations for you "on the loose" in Big Ten Country.
