Welcome friends and fans to illinihq.com.  I'm Dave Loane, Sports Director at WDWS/WHMS radio in Champaign.  I will be starting my 21st season as play by play annnouncer for volleyball, womens basketball, and baseball on the Illini Sports Network at the end of this month.  As I alluded to on some of our preview posts, my assignments involve quite a bit of travel through Big Ten country.  I will try to give you the slant of confrence fans on the road while I'm "on the loose."  

Starting a couple weeks vacation after today.  Will try to bring you some news out of Chicago and later western Michigan during the trip.

Don't forget, the "Illini Today" my daily radio update on the Fighting Illini begins monday 8/25 on our  local stations and various network affiliates.
