MJ - You've been playing varsity since you were a freshman. Are you starting to feel like an old man yet?

CU - Somewhat. The game is starting to slow down a little bit. I guess the kids in my class give me a hard time. I've been able to grow facial hair for a while now and they joke with me and say, 'You hit puberty when you were 2' and stuff like that but it's all good.

MJ - What's left for you to accomplish since you've already broken the school career rushing record?

CU - There's so much left. I've been chasing a championship for so many years. When I played (youth football) for Rantoul, me and my buddy Deron Young, he plays for Rantoul, I've been trying to get him to come here. Our JFL coach Phil Moody came with us to and me and him have been together for a long time. My mom always tells Coach Moody, 'You're always the bridesmaid, never the bride,' and that's been eating away at him. So hopefully we can get a state championship or something this year.

MJ - When you had the car accident a couple years ago, did you ever think you might not be the same athlete?

CU - I heard it around me, but I never thought that myself. I knew I would get back to where I was and I would be able to do what it took to get back here. I've still got a lot to do.

MJ - Is it weird wearing the colors of your big Rival Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley during the wrestling season?

CU - No, I love it. The defensive coordinator, coach (Ryan) Birt is our wrestling coach and he helps me out a lot. He's done a lot for me. He's done a lot of recruiting and stuff for wrestling. The practices are a little intense. We haven't beat Gibson in a real long time in football and their quarterback is my wrestling partner. But when it comes to wrestling time we're teammates.

MJ - Your younger brother Trevor had a pretty good showing at the state track meet. How proud were you to see that?

CU - Hes probably, hands down one of the best athletes to walk to halls of Fisher. He works hard at everything he does. He goes all out in everything, weights, track, basketball, baseball, whatever it is. He shows up during game time, too.

MJ - Do you two ever go back and forth and argue about who's the better athlete?

CU - Oh no. I used to smoke him in junior high and now I'm chasing after him when we run the 400 or anytime we race. It is competitive and there's times when we get into each other's face, but I would never take anything away from him and he would never do that to me.

MJ - What's keeping you busy this summer?

CU - I've been busy with work (Alamo in Gibson City), vacations. I spent a lot of time in the weight room and been playing a lot of catch. I'm trying to get my hands better because I dropped a few key passes so I'm working on that and getting my feet where I need them to be.

MJ - What kind of music are you listening to?

CU - I like a little rap, R&B. I'm listening to some country, to. One of my linemen, a big old hick boy has me listening to a lot of country and I swear all that comes through on his radio is 100.3.

MJ - What's there to do for fun in Fisher?

CU - We have a lot of bon fires and stuff. We'll get together and play some basketball and stuff. It's stuff to keep us out of trouble but we have fun. I know a lot of small towns don't do a whole lot of stuff like we do here. We make the best of it.

MJ - Have you ever seen anyone with calves bigger than your football coach Matt Leng's?

CU - No. Not even close. I've been trying to get him to show me how he got them that big and he won't show me any exercises or anything. I think I'm getting him to crack a little bit though. You should see him do our drills. He takes one step and I swear his calf will shake for like 20 minutes.
