That must have been what U.S. Sen. Barack Obama was thinking this week when the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's chickens came home to roost.
The Wall Street Journal's Dan Henninger has an interesting column about how Barack's buddies made themselves scarce when he needed them most.
It's a common phenomenon in politics. That's why President Truman told people that if they wanted a real friend in Washington, D.C., they should get a dog.
