A day after his teammate Jeff Johnson made his college decision, Centennial senior Rayvonte Rice gave a verbal commitment to Drake, according to Cavan Walsh of ChicagoHoops.com.
Rice, a 6-foot-3 wing, chose the Bulldogs over offers from 15 other Division I programs, including Nevada, TCU, Illinois State, Oregon State, St. Louis University, Akron, Detroit, Wagner, Kent State, Loyola, Miami (Ohio), Ohio, Virginia Commonwealth, Western Michigan and Eastern Illinois.
Drake plays in the Missouri Valley Conference and made the NCAA Tournament in 2008.
Rice visited the Des Moines, Ia., campus during the summer.
Rice saw his stock skyrocket after averaging 17 points and seven rebounds per game and making plenty of clutch shots to lead the Chargers to a Class 3A state title in March.
