Every Monday during the prep football season, IlliniHQ.com will give a wrap-up of how Illini commits and targets fared during the previous weekend's games. Here are a few highlights from last weekend.

- Future Illini quarterback CHANDLER WHITMER threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns to lead Downers Grove South (7-2) to a 34-12 win over Berwyn-Cicero Morton on Friday night. DGS will play Aurora Waubonsie Valley in the first round of the IHSA Class 8A playoffs. Read more about Whitmer on his senior season and Illinois recruits.
- Johnsburg wide receiver CJ FIEDOROWICZ, an Illini commit, had four catches for 69 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Skyhawks to a 38-0 win over Grayslake North on Friday. Johnsburg will play Harvard (7-2) in the first round of the IHSA Class 4A playoffs. Fiedorowicz, one of the top rated tight end prospects in the country, has reopened his recruitment and is seriously considering the undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes.
- Illinois commit COREY COOPER, a 6-foot-2 safetyand Proviso East (2-7) finished their season with a 24-20 loss to Hinsdale South. Cooper, an Illinois commit, is taking official visits and is considering Illinois, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Arizona.
- Defensive back DEXTER McDONALD, an Illini commit, returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown to help lead Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst (7-2) to a 46-14 win over Lee's Summit North on Friday.
- Illini commit MICHAEL HEITZ, a 6-foot-6, 260-pound offensive tackle, and South Fulton defeated Sciota West Prairie 44-12 on Friday. Heitz helped pave the way as the Rebels gained 269 yard rushing and 332 yards overall in the win. South Fulton will play Pawnee in the first round of the IHSA Class 1A playoffs.
- DANIEL EASTERLY, a 6-foot-4 safety committed to Illinois, had 10 tackles to help lead Detroit Cass Tech to a 44-6 win over Detroit Northwestern on Thursday to improve to 5-3 on the season. Read more about Easterly here.
- Future Illinois offensive lineman ANDY GALLIK won his last high school football game as Brother Rice (4-5) defeated Oak Park Fenwick 28-21 on Friday night. Read more about Gallik here.
- Illini commit SHAWN AFRYL, an offensive lineman, and Niles West defeated Waukegan 21-14 on Saturday. Niles West finished the season with a 2-7 record. Afryl (6-foot-3, 300 pounds) committed to the Illini in April and will likely play guard in college.
- MARK WILSON, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker committed to Illinois, and Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln defeated Leon 42-9 on Friday night to improve to 5-3. Wilson and the Lincoln defense limited the Leon offense to 46 yards passing.
TARGETS - How some of the Illinois recruiting targets played this week
- Offensive tackle SEAN HICKEY and Murrysville (Pa.) Franklin Regional (5-2) defeated Hampton 35-34 on Friday night. Hickey, who has plans to commit to one of three schools: Illinois, Boston College or Syracuse, took an official visit to Illinois on Saturday. Read more about Hickey here.--
- Linebacker MITCHELL ROBERTS and the Shiloh Christian (Ark.) Saints defeated Gravette 48-9 on Friday. Roberts and the Saints defense limited Gravette to minus-56 yards rushing in the first half. Roberts has offers from Illinois and Tulsa and interest from several Big 12 and SEC programs. Read more about Roberts here.
- Illinois recruits COREY LEMONIER and CALVIN SMITH and Hialeah (4-3) were blown out by Central 48-0 on Friday.. Lemonier, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound defensive end, and Smith, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive tackle, have offers from Illinois, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee and several other BCS programs.
- Jacksonville (Fla.) Ribault wide receiver JAVON BELL caught two touchdowns and passed for another in a 28-7 win over Suwannee on Friday. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound wideout has a scholarship offer from Illinois.
- Memphis Christian Brothers senior JONATHAN BROWN and the Purple Wave (7-2) lost to Memphis University High 38-14 on Friday. Brown is being recruited by most schools as a linebacker and has offers from Illinois, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Memphis and Ole Miss.
