Dumbledore loved knitting patterns, too

Did you hope that the last present under the tree was a Weasley sweater? Will knitting needles or a glue gun help distract you from the 34 days until your hands will be busy turning those coveted pages?

If you are (or better yet, if you know) a knitter, there is a Harry Potter knitting blog. A second blog, called Weasley Sweaters, is for both knitting and crafts.
The Leaky Lounge has a decent-sized discussion forum for every type of Harry Potter craft imaginable. I loved the Grow your own Mandrakes craft - there was something about those little plant critters that fascinated me. There are also instructions to reproduce Luna Lovegood's bizarre radish earings and even, yes, a dobby hat sans enchanted knitting needles.
Less serious crafters and kids might want to try an origami owl, an origami golden snitch or broom pencils.
Mrs. Weasley would be so proud.
