Zook with a cheap shot on Appleton?

Bob posted this story today and it certainly leads to some questions, like, why did coach Zook have to comment on Appleton at all?
The way this comes off, it seems like coach just wanted to get back at Wisconsin, their newspapers, and Appleton himself...sour grapes. Appleton went to Wisconsin. The end. That's all that needed to be said, "We didn't send him a scholarship" smacks of "Nanny nanny we didn't want him anyway you big stupidhead!"
Appleton told many many people that he was going to Illinois, and there's a good chance that he told the Wisconsin coaches all along he was going there. Fine. Leave it alone. Green was going to Ohio State, too until the last day or so. You win some you lose some.
Most probably, Appleton had an early offer and verballed, even if it was a soft one. Something happened to sour that and the LOI was not sent. Unless you are going to come out with the full story as to what happened, it looks childish.
Like a cheap shot. This isn't Lane Kiffin's Tennessee.

Amen. I know we win some and lose some, but be happy with the ones you got. There is always rumors out there about why things happen and this is just another black eye similar to the Mendenhall saga.

Let's see the Florida fans and beat writers beatdown Ron Zook every chance they had...
Notre Dame and the NYT wrote a complete fabrication and he stayed quiet...
Damarse Mendenhall blindsided Ron Zook and he continued to saty quiet...
Now, the Wisconsin Badger home newspaper wrote in a large headline story "Wisconsin beat Illinois on Appleton". which in reality was a lie...
All Ron Zook has done is completely turn-around this morose football program, remain loyal and supportive to his football players and assist them at every turn to become productive adults...
Yep, let the backstabbing and lies continue about him and his program...Hell, it's more than about time he stood up and told the facts and truth!!!
