So much for that.

Penn State is a good team. So is Illinois. But watching that game tonight, you'd never know it.

In a game that can only be described by words not allowed by the FCC for on-air use, Penn State managed to  crawl out of the murk and steal the slight advantage Illinois might have had in chasing down Michigan State for the Big Ten title.

Illinois did nothing to help themselves on the offensive end, taking poor shots too quickly. It looked like the Illini might have caught a gust of momentum when they took a 9 point lead, only to get stuck in the mud again by bad turnovers and poor offensive play.

Illinois now has to play all-out to try to snag just second place in the conference now, and that includes beating Penn State on the road.

Hopefully, they will bounce back like they have done earlier in the season, but this game, again, should have been a win. And this game may be the one that ends the conference title chances, as slim as they were.

The way we played tonight, maybe Seth Davis was on to something...

I bleed orange and blue like most of illini nation and I try to stay positive no matter how bad things get! But tonight was absolutely the most pathetic and uninspired effort I have ever scene. This has to be the most inconsistent team in Illinois history! 33 points is simply embarassing! No trips to the line....Didn't know that was even possible in 40 minutes! Mike Davis has to be the weakest player in college basketball....If he was trying to wrestle the ball away from a 4th grader....my money would be on the kid...I know he certainly has more desire than Mike has! Pathetic!

How do we get apologies, accountability and action from RG and BW out of this disaster? Stop accepting what they dish out. RG will be silent and that doesn't cut it. This isn't their team - it's ours - and this game changed everything about their credibility and the season.
