"Our Lady of Victory," the feature film about Immaculata College's 1972 national championship team -- which included former Illini coach Theresa Grentz -- is scheduled for an April release.
You can watch the trailer here (be patient -- takes a few moments to load). And you can watch the film's first six minutes here.
Grentz, along with several other members of the team like former Penn State coach Rene Portland, shot a cameo for the film (she plays a nun). No word yet whether the scene will make the final cut. The film's Web site says it remains in post production.
Let's hope it makes its way to C-U this spring.
--It's hard to believe, but entering Thursday's Northwestern-Illinois game, the Illini haven't had a Big Ten Player of the Week honoree. I thought Jenna Smith might have a chance this week, but Jantel Lavender and Tyra Grant had big weeks, and they shared the honor. Even more amazing: Northwestern has had a player honored. Center Amy Jaeschke was named the co-POW (with Danielle Campbell) on Jan. 6. Remarkably, Jaeschke became the first Wildcat to win the Big Ten's weekly honor IN 12 YEARS.
Moral of the story: If your team doesn't win, you ain't gettin' Player of the Week.
