Illinois recruit Destiny Williams and potential future Illini Kelsey Bone will play on the East team in the McDonald's All-American Game in Miami on April 1. The complete rosters were announced Wednesday on ESPNU.
While Williams signed in November, Bone has Illinois on her final list of schools that includes Texas, Texas A&M and South Carolina. She is expected to make a decision by the April 15 start of the spring signing period.
If Williams tries to influence Bone, she might not be alone. Another East member is Texas signee Cokie Reed, from Waco, Texas. Reed also is a center, and her presence at Texas next season has led some to speculate that Bone would not pick the Longhorns.
Bone is the nation's top-ranked senior according to Blue Star Basketball. The No. 1 senior by ESPN HoopGurlz is Brittney Griner, like Bone a resident of the Houston area. Griner, however, will play for the West squad, leading to a nice matchup with Bone in the McDonald's Game. Bone said in an interview on ESPNU that she and Griner could face each other in the Texas playoffs next week.
Fenwick's Dave Power will coach the West squad, and Maine West's Derril Kipp is one of his assistants.
The complete rosters are here.
