A wounded 44-year-old Urbana man was found in the outdoor common area and was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

According to the press release, police arrested Travionte C. Williams, 18, of Urbana for the shooting. He was arrested at the police station at 2:45 p.m.

Williams had been brought in earlier in the day for questioning on an Illinois Department of Corrections parole warrant.

It appears the shooter and victim knew each other. The incident also appears to be drug-related, police said.

Williams was being held at the Champaign County Jail on preliminary charges of attempted murder, in addition to the warrant.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call the Urbana Police Department at 384-2320 or Crimestoppers at 217-373-TIPS.
