Carle cancels more flu shot clinics
URBANA — The limited supply of seasonal flu vaccine has forced Carle Clinic to cancel more flu shot clinics.
Canceled are clinics scheduled for Oct. 22 and Nov. 5 in Monticello and Oct. 24 in Mahomet.
Flu shot clinics scheduled for Carle Clinic on Windsor Road in Urbana will take place Oct. 19-24, but will offer only FluMist nasal spray vaccine as long as supplies last.
FluMist can only be taken by healthy people ages 2-49.
Carle Clinic will continue administering seasonal flu vaccine in doctors’ offices, and says it will evaluate the ability to hold future walk-in flu shot clinics on a weekly basis.
Demand has been high for seasonal flu vaccine, and Carle Clinic is still waiting to receive part of its vaccine shipment.
