Death of Georgetown man eluding police ruled accident
DANVILLE – A Vermilion County coroner's jury on Wednesday ruled the death of a Georgetown man who was killed while eluding police was an accident.
Though a Georgetown police officer used a Taser on Curtis M. Sloan during a chase, authorities said that did not contribute to the death. Instead, they said, Mr. Sloan's fatal injuries were caused when he ran into and fell over a fence.
