Family hires attorney for UI player Smith
A veteran Champaign defense attorney has been hired by the family of University of Illinois basketball player Jamar Smith.
Smith, 19, who lives in the 1100 block of Sterling Court, Savoy, was ticketed with improper lane usage in connection with a car crash late Monday night that seriously injured his teammate, Brian Carlwell, 19, a freshman from Maywood.
