Officials investigating blast at bank ATM
CHAMPAIGN – Police, fire and bomb squad officials were investigating an explosion and apparent failed break-in at an automated teller machine at a bank in Champaign early this morning.
Champaign police Sgt. Jim Rein said witnesses heard a loud bang and saw smoke at the First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust, 2229 S. Neil St., Champaign, at 5:59 a.m. today.
