Man released on bond in scam case arrested again
URBANA – A Champaign man charged a week ago with felony theft is back in the county jail, believed to have committed the same type of scam after being released.
Urbana police Lt. Bryant Seraphin said Mark Ohrnstein, 38, who listed an address in the 2000 block of Melrose Drive in Champaign, was arrested again on Friday on multiple police reports, some of which were generated after a story ran in Wednesday's News-Gazette about allegations that Ohrnstein was scamming people out of cash in Urbana neighborhoods.
