Estranged husband arraigned in murder
URBANA – Robert Arnette's statements in phone conversations that he found his estranged wife's body hanging in her home and moved her body to cover up a suicide did not fit the evidence, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Arnette, 38, was arraigned Tuesday on charges that he murdered his estranged wife, Naomi Arnette, and concealed the homicide. Judge Richard Klaus advised Robert Arnette, who listed an address on Aztec Place in Champaign, that the Class X felony murder charge carries a sentence up to 60 years and the Class 3 felony charge of concealing a death by homicide would be a consecutive sentence of up to 10 years.
