First winter storm makes traveling a bit icy
CISCO – When Brad Miller of Champaign left home before 5 a.m. Saturday to go duck hunting on the Sangamon River near Decatur, it was cold and crisp, nothing that would make him and his buddies think about canceling the trip.
"Getting out to our blind, we broke skim ice on the river," Miller said Saturday afternoon. "It started sleeting a little bit and then it started freezing rain. If we'd known it was like this, we'd still be hunting."
