Sheriff's official warns of danger of realistic toy guns
URBANA – Champaign County sheriff's Lt. Ed Ogle held the two black .45-caliber handguns side by side.
"You tell the difference," he said, knowing that to even a trained eye, there is hardly any.
The difference is major, though.
One is a real Sig Sauer pistol designed to inflict serious injury or death. The other is a toy air gun designed to entertain with the firing of tiny plastic pellets.
