Man sentenced to prison over sex offender registration

URBANA – A Champaign man who failed to appear for his sentencing for failure to register as a sex offender was sentenced to prison anyway.

Champaign County Judge Heidi Ladd Friday sentenced Felipe N. Hernandez, 43, whose last known address was in the 200 block of Avondale Drive, to four years in prison after hearing about Hernandez's peculiar behavior on the University of Illinois campus about three weeks ago.
