School buses, drivers prepped for first day of classes

URBANA – The wheels on the bus roll to a stop as an imaginary child steps onboard Thomas Smith's yellow bus.

It's Monday, two days before school begins in Urbana, and Smith is taking First Student bus No. 18 out for a stretch after months of summer break.
