Both Vermilion County Board candidates seeking 1st office
DANVILLE – Two people who are no strangers to local politics but relatively new to the business of the Vermilion County board are running against each other for an open seat in District 5.
Democrat Terry Wilkus was appointed to the seat in August 2007. Republican Steve Ridge is challenging him, and, like Wilkus, has never run for elected office until now. But both men have been active in their respective political parties for years.
