150th anniversary preparations for Champaign begin
CHAMPAIGN – It's still 15 months away, but preparations are under way to celebrate the city's 150th anniversary.
A committee of 17 residents, including four former mayors and current Mayor Jerry Schweighart, are working on what will be a 13-month-long celebration of city history – from March 2010 to March 2011.
