Weibel re-elected to chairmanship of county board

URBANA – As expected, C. Pius Weibel was re-elected county board chairman Monday evening.

Weibel is a Democrat, and that party holds a 15 to 12 majority on the board. The Republicans ran John Jay of Mahomet. On party lines, the vote was 14 to 11, with Democrat Ralph Langenheim and Republican Kevin Hunt absent.
