Two in Mattis Avenue wreck treated, released
CHAMPAIGN – Two Champaign residents were treated and released from Carle Foundation Hospital on Wednesday after the car they were in was hit in the rear.
A Champaign police report said Joe Combs of Farmer City was driving a pickup truck south on Mattis Avenue near Gentry Square at 12:19 p.m. when he struck a car stopped in traffic. Chaka Wesley of the 500 block of West Beardsley Avenue was driving that car. DeAndre Hill of the 2100 block of O'Donnell Drive was her passenger. Both were taken by ambulance to the hospital.
