Difficult to enforce park entry fee
This is in response to the Aug. 8 News-Gazette editorial, "Consider entry fees at parks." To date, fees have not been implemented fort a variety of reasons. One is that the cost of collection might exceed the revenue. Another is that more employees would be needed for collection and enforcement.
Some parks have lodges where there are conventions and restaurants. Should visitors attending a convention or dining out pay a fee? Starved Rock State Park is an example.
