It's not Christians who are unrealistic
Loren Anderson's Aug. 13 letter reverberated John Lennon's hope for a world void of the Christian influence. Imagine what a peaceful and happy world we would live in if we shed the shackles of religion. Lennon imagined a world without religious wars, and Anderson imagines a world with fewer divorces. And Christians are the ones being accused of living in a fairy tale.
Apparently, both Lennon and Anderson fail to understand that bloodshed and divorce are not Christian values. A value system should never be judged on the merits of those who fail to live up to the standards of that system. Replacing the Christian value system, which is based on absolute truth, with a secular humanistic system that's based on the feeling of the moment and relativistic truth is collective suicide.
