Acting on reputation would be a mistake

"We need to ban pit bulls, Rottweilers and Doberman pinschers based on the reputations of the animals, not the owners."

That is a direct quote from Rantoul village trustee Chuck Smith from the Aug. 19 News Gazette. Smith wants to ban three breeds of dogs based on their "reputations." This is from a trustee of the community that was recently referred to as "Rantucky."
