Thank the police for their efforts

On Sept. 13, I was in the car running an errand to my grandson's house.

That's when I realized I was lost, even though I had been there before.

When I noticed a police officer behind me on a motorcycle, I gestured for him to stop, and he did.

He provided much needed assistance, including calling an ambulance and my grandson. The officer remained at the scene until an ambulance arrived.

So next time readers observe a police officer on duty, they should thank him or her, even if they just say it to themselves.
