Urbana Park District hitting the road to get pool ideas
URBANA – Park officials in Urbana are using July to begin planning for a possible replacement pool at Crystal Lake Park.
This is the first summer since 1927 that there is no swimming at an outdoor pool in the park – the result of major structural and mechanical failures at the pool last summer as well as the failure in 2008 of a tax increase proposal that would have paid for millions of dollars in improvements at the facility.
