Police identify body; death ruled drowning

MONTICELLO – The Piatt County sheriff's office and death examiner are investigating the apparent drowning of a Monticello man.
Sheriff's Sgt. Ryan Leary said a man whose body was found in the Sangamon River just south of Bridge Street outside the Monticello city limits Monday morning has been identified as Lance W. Potter, 35.
