Charitable Gift Program
The News-Gazette Charitable Gift Program contributes to organizations in The News-Gazette’s coverage area that work to improve the quality of life in our communities.
The Charitable Gift Program primarily supports not-for-profit groups that promote services for education, literacy, children, senior citizens, health and welfare, and animal welfare.
Charitable gift requests must be in writing and should include the name, address and phone number of the organization, along with a statement describing how the contribution will benefit those served by the organization.
Evidence must be provided of the organization’s tax-exempt status. Forms are available for download or at The News-Gazette receptionist desk, 15 Main St., Champaign. Requests should be faxed to 351-5245, attn: Charitable Gifts, or mailed to The News-Gazette, attn: Glenda Hutchinson, P.O. Box 677, Champaign, IL61824-0677.
All requests are reviewed monthly and must be received by the last Friday of the month to ensure consideration the following month. Applicants are noti- fied of the committee’s decision by letter within one week of the meeting.
