Rice sold on chance to play soon at Drake

CHAMPAIGN – When James Kinney learned his college coach was recruiting a former high school teammate, the Centennial graduate immediately turned pitchman for Ohio University.
The Bobcats freshman phoned Rayvonte Rice. He sent text messages to the Charger senior. He made it a point to hang out with the 6-foot-3 wing – on the basketball court and at the Kinney family home – whenever both were in Champaign at the same time this summer.
